Where do you live (City, State, or Country)? Las Vegas, Nevada
Your script stood out among hundreds of others. What was the inspiration for your story and why did you write a script instead of a short story or a novel? Having a background in the music industry, I thought it a good fit to write Back2Good. There’s a lot of me in there. I thought it would be good in film format and not a short story or novel.
How long did it take you to write your script...and what is your writing process? Do you outline...use index cards...white board...or just start with FADE IN? I started off using an outline, but I converted to beat sheets and it seemed to make a big difference.
What is your ultimate ambition as a writer? I’d like to someday win an Academy award with some of my more serious screenplays.
Was your entry at The Wiki Screenplay Contest a full script or “the first ten pages”? Why did you make that choice? Full script absolutely. The feedback was invaluable.
What’s your all-time favorite movie or television show...and why? "Oz" is my all time favorite because it was all drama and challenged you to look away.
What advice do you have for writers hoping to win a contest or place as a finalist as you have? Never quit. One day it just clicks and it happens for you. It took me about 20 contests to win one.
What else are you working on that the world needs to know about? "4th & Goal" is about a talented college quarterback who must overcome a tragic loss to see his dreams fulfilled.
