Wiki Screenplay Contest
Frequently Asked Questions
You have questions...we have answers!
Can i submit more than 10 pages?
Yes. Submit as many pages as you like, but judging is based strictly upon the first 10 pages.
how can i get you to read my entire script?
Submit your screenplay for a "full read" with Executive Level Notes & Scores...and every word on every page will be read by multiple judges.
IF I'M NOT A FINALIST, CAN YOU STILL READ MY SCRIPT?
To receive complete "a la carte" Professional Analysis, attach your script in an email to us. The fee for this service is $129, for which you will be invoiced via Paypal.
if i win the contest, do i still retain copyright?
Absolutely. You will retain all copyright, title, and interest in your material.
how do i know you won't steal my idea or sell it to someone else?
That's not the business we're in. The fact is, screenplay ideas are very rarely "stolen" by anyone. Industry professionals have plenty of great material to choose from without stealing your ideas or those of anyone else. We recommend, however, that any material submitted to any competition is registered with the WGA-W or is submitted for legal protection at the U.S. Copyright Office (USPTO.gov)
CAN I SEND YOU A HARD COPY OF MY SCRIPT?
No. We only accept digital files. Your pages should be submitted as a PDF file only. Nothing else will be accepted.
can i submit pages from more than one script?
Yes. Many contestants send us multiple entries.
can i send in my whole script 10 pages at a time?
No. Only one submission per script.
can i enter my 10 pages more than once in the same contest period?
No. You can send in the same script pages (hopefully revised/improved) in any subsequent contest period.
can i talk to or meet the judges?
Not during the contest period. The judges are private individuals and working professionals with busy daily schedules, part of which involves reading contest script materials. At the end of each contest period, winners will have the opportunity to speak personally with one or more of them in a Virtual Story Conference to discuss the merits of their entry and ways to improve it.
where are you located?
The Wiki Contest offices are in Southern California. Judges are located throughout the U.S., the United Kingdom, and Europe.

the winning writer. All prize monies will be paid to winners via Paypal only.
No other payment options (check, bank transfers, money orders, etc.) are available.

We publicize the identity of Finalists and Winners only with their permission. Your privacy is respected at all times, and your entry is strictly confidential until you give us permission to make that information public.

We are not managers or agents ourselves. Winners, however, may find the advice of Senior Judges helpful during their "Line Notes & Live Consultation".
if i have revised pages or a new draft, can i submit it?
Because we're the world's fastest screenplay contest, the pages you submit go immediately into the hands of the analysts and judges. Once they begin work, no re-submissions are accepted. Revisions should simply be submitted as a new contest entry.
what file formats do you accept?
Submissions must be in PDF file format, with the title ONLY indicated in
the PDF file name (do not write "10 pages" or anything else in the file name).

can i enter the same script more than once?

DO YOU SEND SCRIPTS TO MANAGERS OR AGENTS?
Winning screenplays and selected Finalist screenplays and TV pilots may be forwarded to major Hollywood literary managers and agents for representation consideration at the sole discretion of The Wiki Screenplay Contest. What if I disagree with your judges' feedback?
The very nature of writing assessment is always subjective. While our judges and reader-analysts endeavor to apply objective professional standards to the major screenplay elements appearing in each script, their opinions are unique and are based upon their knowledge of what the professional film and television industry responds to. No scores, comments, notes, or recommendations are assured or guaranteed for any submitted material at any time. All scores are final and purely at the discretion of the Senior Judging Panel.
Writer acknowledges that any and all written feedback and analysis commentary is objectively presented and intended to be illustrative, instructive, and helpful in guiding the writer along a professional path. Scores and comments are in accordance with current professional film and television industry standards, but writer accepts them as purely subjective pursuant to the judgment and opinion of the individual reader-analyst and agrees not to request, demand, or suggest alternate, different, or revised written feedback; no guarantees of satisfaction on the part of the writer are expressed or implied.
