Where do you live (City, State, or Country)? Although I’m a proud Canadian that lived in Toronto and Vancouver most of my life – I currently live in San Fernando, Pampanga, Philippines. Came here to focus on writing.
Your script stood out among hundreds of others. What was the inspiration for your story and why did you write a script instead of a short story or a novel? What inspired me to write “Black Wolf” was its historical significance to the world we live in today.
How long did it take you to write your script...and what is your writing process? Do you outline...use index cards...white board...or just start with FADE IN? I wrote the 1st draft of “Black Wolf’ in seven months after creating a rough outline. Spent twice that time rewriting drafts ever since - and will continue until I nail it. I spent my young adult life as an actor on stage and screen – so writing a screenplay seemed natural rather than writing a novel.
What is your ultimate ambition as a writer? My ultimate ambition as a writer is to write scripts that sell.
Which film or television writers inspire you? To name a few, The Thin Red Line, Catch Me If You Can, The Departed, Public Enemies, No Country for Old Men. The Unforgiven.
What advice do you have for writers hoping to win a contest or place as a finalist as you have? They say a good writer is a good editor. Long before the novelist Anne Rice was ever published she wallpapered her office with rejection letter as a reminder to never give up.
What else are you working on that the world needs to know about? Other scripts I’ve written are “A Dream Come True” – “Bluesman and the Lady” which is a contemporary musical, and a psychological thriller called “The Sacrifices”
