Where do you live (City, State, or Country)? Raleigh, North Carolina USA
Your script stood out among hundreds of others. What was the inspiration for your story and why did you write a script instead of a short story or a novel? Situation comedy is the reason I started writing and has always been my inspiration.
How long did it take you to write your script...and what is your writing process? Do you outline...use index cards...white board...or just start with FADE IN? A couple of months for the first draft. I outline by scene.
What is your ultimate ambition as a writer? Staff writer on a sit-com. Have one of my pilots produced.
Was your entry at The Wiki Screenplay Contest a full script or “the first ten pages”? Why did you make that choice? Full script. My projects have done well in other contests so I felt they were ready for full script entry.
What’s your all-time favorite movie or television show...and why? My top ten sitcoms of all time in no particular order except for the first is THE HONEYMOONERS, LEAVE IT TO BEAVER, THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW, THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES, ALL IN THE FAMILY, MASH, SOAP, TAXI, CHEERS AND MARRIED WITH CHILDREN.
What advice do you have for writers hoping to win a contest or place as a finalist as you have? Write what you love. If it is sit-coms, watch and study them. If it’s sci-fi movies, watch and study them, etc.
What else are you working on that the world needs to know about? I’m currently working on a multi camera sit-com.
