Where do you live (City, State, or Country)? Lima, Peru
Your script stood out among hundreds of others. What was the inspiration for your story and why did you write a script instead of a short story or a novel? I think the inspiration for all my stories are a combination of past experiences and a colorful imagination.
How long did it take you to write your script...and what is your writing process? Do you outline...use index cards...white board...or just start with FADE IN? This script took about a year to write while writing another at same time.
What is your ultimate ambition as a writer? I want to get as good as possible at the craft, continue to write (have 10 additional in various stages of development) and maybe one day get lucky and see it on the big screen
Was your entry at The Wiki Screenplay Contest a full script or “the first ten pages”? Why did you make that choice? First ten pages- if the first 10 pages aren’t good enough to want the reader to turn the page, then I would have needed to start from the beginning. This way at least I have a good idea I am on the right path.
What’s your all-time favorite movie or television show...and why? There are so many but if I had to choose one it would be Saving Private Ryan. It really has it all, action, horror, drama, suspense, even some comedy. I like movies that are based on “real” people which is why I write the same.
What advice do you have for writers hoping to win a contest or place as a finalist as you have? The same advice you have heard a million times. Keep writing and reading scripts.
What else are you working on that the world needs to know about? I am about to start writing my next thriller called “The Fixer” - A time-traveling master thief accidentally erases the slave trade, creating a paradox: save his daughter by restoring history, or preserve a better world where she might never have been born.
