Where do you live (City, State, or Country)? Currently, I reside in New York.
How long did it take you to write your script...and what is your writing process? Do you outline...use index cards...white board...or just start with FADE IN? My short script took me one morning to write, and the next morning I tightened it up with final edits. I did, however, have the “idea” in my head a few days prior. For this particular short I did not use index cards or a white board. I started with FADE IN and went from there.
What is your ultimate ambition as a writer? To re-play life situations, and also create life situations that evoke loving change in the heart without sacrificing honesty and peace. That said, I suppose my ultimate ambition as a writer is creating entertainment that can speak the truth in love.
Was your entry at The Wiki Screenplay Contest a full script or “the first ten pages”? Why did you make that choice? Full script. I made that choice because I want to understand fully, and perfect an entire piece. Not part of a piece.
What’s your all-time favorite movie or television show...and why? One of my favorite movies is “Beautiful Boy” by Felix van Groeningen. Because it’s real. It’s raw. Tough life situations don’t always have a fairy tale happy ending. In reality, it rarely does. But our human responses, actions, behaviors, and belief systems that surround a hard situation can dictate how we cope with an outcome. And I believe the writer did an amazing job at displaying this, and with heart.
What advice do you have for writers hoping to win a contest or place as a finalist as you have? Be an honest writer. Use your creative brain. Not AI.
What else are you working on that the world needs to know about? I am about to start a screenplay that will be a drama.
