The Last Colony
Set against the turbulent backdrop of 1970s Ireland, The Last Colony is an emotionally charged historical drama that intertwines family, activism, and the relentless fight for civil rights. The story follows Seán McKenna, a passionate and charismatic activist, as he courageously leads peaceful protests against systemic injustice in Northern Ireland, risking his life and family’s safety. At home, his teenage daughter Mary navigates her own coming-of-age journey, grappling with the weight of her father’s convictions while finding her own voice in a divided world. |
As the McKenna family confronts the oppressive forces of the British government and the Royal Ulster Constabulary, the film highlights the resilience of human spirit through acts of defiance and unity. Interwoven with vivid historical events, including violent clashes and political scheming, the narrative balances the personal and the political—bringing to life the cost of fighting for justice in a land rife with turmoil.

The Birthday
Keven was the winner of a Special Recognition Award at Féile An Earraigh Over 60’s Short Story Competition, in which the judges said "‘The Birthday’ by Keven Wickham was so powerful and exceptional that we’ve placed it in a special category of its own—Special Recognition Award. Although not set in Ireland but in present-day Gaza it is an incredibly moving story about a young boy and his attempts to survive the Israeli forces’ current genocide of the Palestinian people. Rescued
Meabh Molloy, a fiercely independent dog rescuer in rural Ireland, battles against cruelty and corruption to protect the animals she loves. Thirty years after witnessing a traumatic event as a child, Meabh runs a dog sanctuary where she and her daughter Aoife devote their lives to saving vulnerable animals.
