Where do you live (City, State, or Country)? Houston, TX
Your script stood out among hundreds of others. What was the inspiration for your story and why did you write a script instead of a short story or a novel? It is based on a classic western that I felt could be shortened and made more appropriate for modern audiences. How long did it take you to write your script...and what is your writing process? Do you outline...use index cards...white board...or just start with FADE IN? Three weeks. I outline using index cards. What is your ultimate ambition as a writer? Get a film made, or a series on TV. Was your entry at The Wiki Screenplay Contest a full script or “the first ten pages”? Why did you make that choice? Full script. Although the first ten pages are important, I feel that it’s necessary to see if the whole script can hold interest. What’s your all-time favorite movie or television show...and why? Casablanca. The casting, the performances, the settings, music, all of it. What advice do you have for writers hoping to win a contest or place as a finalist as you have? Keep refining, and listen to everyone. You don’t need to act on others’ advice, but at least listen. What else are you working on that the world needs to know about? Several pilots and features. Two are science fiction related that I feel brings some new ideas.
