I’m from Texas City, Tx.

Your script stood out among hundreds of others. What was the inspiration for your story and why did you write a script instead of a short story or a novel?
I had a 15 second dream being chased by my monster and for the rest of the day I just kept having ideas at work, writing them down in my notes. A script seemed easier to write than a novel or short story, but I was wrong, this is my first script, so I didn’t know that.

How long did it take you to write your script...and what is your writing process? Do you outline...use index cards...white board...or just start with FADE IN?
In total probably around 4 months and I wrote notes down at work and when I got off, I worked on it when my kids went to sleep. I wrote a draft first with my ideas to see how many pages I could reach and then once it was complete I worked on the final copy.

What is your ultimate ambition as a writer?
I want to change how people see and feel about horror movies, not just focusing on jump scares but the thrill of being scared. I just want people to like my idea!

Was your entry at The Wiki Screenplay Contest a full script or “the first ten pages”? Why did you make that choice?
It was a full script and no specific reason I just finished my script before submitting to contest because I didn’t know at the time you could do 10 pages.

What’s your all-time favorite movie or television show...and why?
Devil (2010) I’ve seen it about ten times and it’s a classic horror movie and not being able to trust the people you’re trapped with and being punished by the devil but finding redemption and forgiveness at the end was a nice touch.

What advice do you have for writers hoping to win a contest or place as a finalist as you have?
At the end of the day be proud of what you create and always appreciate feedback because it can help. I’m just an average joe who had an idea, you never know what you can do until you try!

What else are you working on that the world needs to know about?
I have 8 other ideas for scripts, 3 of them are horror, 4 are action and the last one is going to be a comedy but if I can sell The Chase it’ll allow me to have more free time to start writing those other scripts.
